SIA Training with the Security Experts
IPM Group is a multi-service facilities management organisation. Combining knowledge and expertise from a range of sectors including, Security, Fire Protection, IT/ Telecoms, Secure Courier and Commercial Cleaning. We now have a wide portfolio of clients from both the public and private sectors and include councils, the NHS, high street retailers, the catering and hospitality industry, social housing schemes, and the leisure industry. Although we have now diversified our offering, the business was built on both security personnel and door supervisors. The security industry has been hit hard during the Covid-19 pandemic, many have left the profession, now with the reopening of hospitality venues, there is a large demand for SIA approved security personnel and simply not enough trained staff to supply it. Now due to this, security is a thriving industry, and qualified security personnel are in demand. The UK Door Security Association (UKDSA) has stated that more than half of the positions have not been filled, meaning there is currently a huge demand for door supervisors. At IPM Group, we are now at a position where we can offer our expertise and train the next generation of security personnel using our wealth of knowledge developed over the years. We are ecstatic to announce, the IPM Training Centre.
What we do:
After years of honing our processes and training techniques, we will be offering three SIA courses essential to a career within the security industry. They are Door Supervisor Training, CCTV Operative Training and First Aid at work. The SIA Door Supervisor course is industry standard and if successful, candidates could be working within the industry within as little as 1 week. The course takes six days to complete and with demand so high currently within the industry, candidates are likely to receive work immediately.
From April 1, security personnel must have additional training. This applies to people gaining their initial training. It also means that current SIA holders will need to update their training with a First Aid qualification no later than October 1. All this is putting a strain on the supply of legally qualified door supervisors. At IPM Training we are proud to offer the First Aid Qualification to both existing and new members within the security industry.
The CCTV Operator course is the perfect course for progressing your career in the Private Security Industry. The course prepares you to work in a huge variety of roles including CCTV Operative, Security Supervisor and various management positions. Taking this course in tandem with the door supervisor qualification is a great way to give yourself a leg up above the competition when applying to jobs.
Why we do it:
If you are interested in working within the security sector, whether that be as a Door Supervisor, CCTV Operative or security guard, you will need to obtain an SIA license.
To obtain an SIA license, you will need to complete an approved SIA course. Once you have completed the SIA course, you will then be allowed to apply for an SIA licence and if successful, work within the security sector.
